About the Teacher

To tell a little about myself, I completed my teacher licensure program at Chicago State University in 2016 and have been a licensed educator ever since.  I have worked both in and out of, the classroom and have teaching experience at the elementary, middle and high school levels.  I now teach K – 5 reading privately on a full-time basis, as this is the best fit for me as an educator.  As a part of this, I am a member of the Reading Simplified Academy, which provides evidence-based training, etc. for reading teachers.  I have achieved expert-level standing in this academy and do believe that the Reading Simplified approach to teaching reading is the best in the world.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Michigan State University (2001) as well as a law degree from New York Law School (2006).  I did work as an attorney for some time but just never found fulfillment in that role and being a teacher has served me much better, in that respect.  On my free time, yes, I love to read and I try to get outside as often as I can.  In addition, and most importantly of all, I am a proud family man who loves spending time with my wife, Pachicha, daughter, Natalie and son, Avery.
